Turks and Caicos Winter Travel + New Developments

Less than a four-hour flight from JFK, Turks & Caicos is an award-winning Caribbean destination with pristine white sand beaches, crystal blue waters with coral reefs, and a selection of new luxury accommodations coming to market, perfect for those looking to escape the frigid Northeast winter.

Travel to Turks has been booming, and this year’s tourism numbers are set to surpass pre-pandemic levels thanks in part to major airlines like Delta, Virgin Atlantic, and Silver Airways adding new direct routes from the U.S. and Europe into Providenciales.

One enclave in particular, Grace Bay, is primed to become a top Caribbean destination thanks to a slew of new developments that offer gorgeous beaches, world-class dining, and access to Bight Reef (a.k.a. Coral Gardens) which is home to turtles, stingrays, parrotfish, butterfly fish, nurse sharks, and countless other species.

DELTA AIRLINES NEW ROUTE TO TURKS AND CAICOS FROM MINNEAPOLIS
Press Release Announcement from the the Turks and Caicos Islands Airport Authority – January 20, 2024
The TCIAA is proud to announce the commencement of a new seasonal route via Delta Airlines from Minneapolis to Providenciales. Saturday January 20th, 2024, Delta’s inaugural flight brought 125 passengers to our shores. Passengers basked in the sunshine as they deplaned the 737-800 aircraft. Some noted their excitement to finally be away from below zero degree climate to our 80 degree sunny Turks and Caicos.
The TCIAA is excited about this seasonal route, which allows for additional tourist from the midwestern United States of America.
The departing flight DL1856 took 68 passengers out of the Howard Hamilton International Airport into Minneapolis, which is Delta’s second largest hub location. This route will be operating weekly on Saturdays.
