Ambergris Cay

This 1,100 acre private island is a world of its own.

From Providenciales it is a 20-minute jet ride to this stunning private island and residential community.  There are no regularly scheduled flights between the other Turks and Caicos Islands and Ambergris Cay.  The island has been privately owned since 1811, and was largely abandoned for much of the 1900’s.

The island sits at the southeast corner of the Turks and Caicos Islands that surrounds the world-famous Caicos Banks, whose shallow turquoise blue waters and surrounding reefs are so brilliant they can be seen from space.

Just east of the island is the Grand Turk Passage that descends to nearly 7,000 feet with ideal conditions for fishing, whale watching and wall diving. Ambergris Cay is home to a large nature preserve and mangrove lagoons.  Varied sea life is abundant, including eagle rays, turtles, dolphins and migrating whales.

The descent into Ambergris Cay, one of 2 Cays in the area and often referred to as Big Ambergris, is spectacular.  Its sandy beaches and the exclusive Ambergris Cay Resort, a members-only community managed by the Turks and Caicos Collection, is a destination like no other in the Caribbean and home to the uber wealthy.

Master plans for Ambergris Cay will leave most of the island undeveloped.  Silent golf-carts are the main means of transportation.

A delightful tropical paradise.  On this island, it’s all about you.  A place to unwind, relax and enjoy five-star++ service.
